Whether you live in the vicinity or just visit from time to time, you will always find a warm welcome awaiting you from locals and the many business people who inhabit this wonderfully scenic area. As you approach the peninsula from Sutton Cross you will face a choice of routes to take you into Howth. If you turn right at the Marine Hotel and take Geenfield Road up towards Howth Summit you’ll pass the entrance to Howth Golf Club on the left until you eventually arrive at the Summit. From there you can enjoy a truly spectacular and panoramic view of Dublin Bay that surely rivals any scene any other capital city in the world can offer. Visitors to Howth Golf Club can savour the same views as they tee up on the 14th, 15th and 16th holes.

What was it to be - hills and heart attacks or heaven on earth. The clubhouse exterior was impressive, the locker room was the roomiest and cleanest I'd ever seen, the bars and dining room first class as was the food and service and Jim in the pro shop was very friendly and more than helpful. The course is built on a hill and the views of the north and south coast of Dublin are breathtaking to say the least. It's not a long course but some of the holes are very tricky. Go off the fairway and you are in the gorse or heather - don't even bother looking for your ball. Small but perfectly manicured greens add to the excitement and difficulty. For one getting on in years a buggy was essential and took the sting out of the hillclimbs - but it didn't stop the members from walking around the course. A fantastic experience.
