 In 2010, the membership endorsed a change from a Management Committee to our new Club Council, thereby streamlining the governance of the club.

It is chaired by President, Liam Cahill and Officers include Lady Captain, Mary Judge, Captain Joseph Richardson, Hon Secretary Brian O’Connor, responsible for membership issues and Hon Treasurer Veronica Baker, who keeps a close eye on all the club finances.

Executive Members are Greens convener Gerry Barry who is responsible for all matters relating to the course, Deirdre McSwiney who is in charge of House and Social events, and Marketing/ Communications convener, Gillian Guinness.

Golf at Howth

Founded in 1916 the heath land links style course was designed by the renowned golfer and course architect James Braid, a 5 times winner of “The Open” Golf Championship who can count the design of the prestigious Kings and Queens Courses at Gleneagles amongst his greatest achievements.

James was well known for including dog leg design golf holes in his course designs and the 5th hole in particular is an excellent example of how he blended a great golf hole into the unique Howth Heathers. The exceptional views from the 16th tee are worthy of mention in any golf guide.
