At Howth Golf Club we have an Emergency Phone Number:
That Number is 01 832 6963.
This Number is ONLY to be used in the Event of a Medical Emergency on the Course. It is NOT to be used for Contacting the club.
This Number is also printed in the Center of all scorecards.
It works very simply, should an emergency arise, call this number, stay with the injured party, describe the nature of the emergency and ensure that the Emergency Services are called.
Someone will then be sent to assist you. Make sure you tell those on the phone WHAT part of the Course you are located at.
A list of those who are Qualified in the use of Defibrillator is avaiable in the Bar or the Office.

Do you know the Walls of Limerick or the Siege of Ennis? Have you ever danced any of these very lively Ceili dances? Or in the near or far-gone past did you ever learn an Irish dance step?
If so, then we are inviting you to join the fun and join in a session in the Club to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
For generations, the highlight of Irish social life was the Hooley. Music, dance, song, good conversation and merrimen flowed freely as described by Percy French in his riotious ballad “ There’s A Hooley On in Hannigan’s House Tonight”.
We are planning a great Irish Hooley Night at the beginning of the National Week festivities on Saturday, March 10th when we will be joined by a first class group of Irish Musicians and ballad singers. Our star singer on the night will be Jimmy Kelly, brother of Luke, who many of you will have heard some two weeks ago on RTE’s John Murray Morning Show singing Paddy Kavanagh’s “Raglan Road”.
No hooley would be complete without a dancing session and this is where we want some volunteers who will take to the floor, rattle the roof and swing to a rousing set dance. We need a minimum of twelve volunteers who are up for the fun. They can be members, partners, family members or guests – all are welcome. Even if you or they are a bit raw at this stage, we will have a rehearsal with an expert teacher who will knock off the raw edges. We need you to volunteer right away, so email your willingness to gm@howthgolfclub.ie and mark for the attention Social Committee.
And no hooley would be right without a bit of food, so we will have a traditional Irish Supper on the night. The food will be served between 8.00 – 8.30pm to facilitate our members who want to watch the Ireland/Scotland match which will finish around 7pm, leaving plenty of time to get to the Club.
Our new, good-value taxi service got off to a great start at our Valentine’s Night and we will offer this service again for those who want to have a few jars on the night and get home safely.
Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, Feb 22nd.
In the meanwhile, we need those who are game for a laugh to contact us by email as soon as possible and volunteer to join in the Ceili.

Founded in 1916 the heath land links style course was designed by the renowned golfer and course architect James Braid, a 5 times winner of “The Open” Golf Championship who can count the design of the prestigious Kings and Queens Courses at Gleneagles amongst his greatest achievements.
James was well known for including dog leg design golf holes in his course designs and the 5th hole in particular is an excellent example of how he blended a great golf hole into the unique Howth Heathers. The exceptional views from the 16th tee are worthy of mention in any golf guide.
