The Man in the Woman’s Shoes
Just to reassure you – we are not talking about any member of Howth Golf Club but about our next Theatre Evening when we are delighted to offer you another marvellous nights entertainment with this production, a one man show written and performed by that outstanding Irish actor, Mikel Murfi.
Some quotes about this show:
“ I don’t believe you have been able to get Mikel Murfi, who I know well, to bring this fantastic nights theatre to Howth Golf Club” JOE RICHARDSON, VICE-CAPTAIN
“I appeal to you to watch out for it… an enchanting show… hilarious…One of the most delightful theatrical experiences I’ve had in a long time” – Gay Byrne, RTE Lyric FM.
“One of the most delightful shows in years” Irish Daily Mail
“ I went to see the play ‘The Man in the Woman’s Shoes,’ at the weekend. I am writing this email to say that it was one of the best pieces of theatre that I have ever seen – and I see quite a lot….It is funny and sad, tragic and hilarious, honest and full of intrigue. This one man show has to be seen.”Martha Woodstock, audience member in Kilkenny.
This early warning email is to enable you put it in your diary and get your ticket now. We sold out our last production “Tom Crean” very quickly and a large number of members were very disappointed to miss out.
Make sure you don’t miss out. Wednesday, May 21, at 8.00pm and tickets are now on sale in the Club Bar at €15.
Your Social Committee of Niamh, Maura, Norma, Pauline, Mossy and Des look forward to seeing you there. It’s our last Theatre Night before the Autumn.
Regards,
EILEEN GILROY

Founded in 1916 the heath land links style course was designed by the renowned golfer and course architect James Braid, a 5 times winner of “The Open” Golf Championship who can count the design of the prestigious Kings and Queens Courses at Gleneagles amongst his greatest achievements.
James was well known for including dog leg design golf holes in his course designs and the 5th hole in particular is an excellent example of how he blended a great golf hole into the unique Howth Heathers. The exceptional views from the 16th tee are worthy of mention in any golf guide.
